EXCLUSIVE: WTFilms has snapped up worldwide gross sales rights for Dutch directorial duo Steffan Haars and Flip Van Der Kuil’s English-language debut Krazy Home following its world premiere at Sundance.
The gory, comedy-horror, placing a recent spin on the household sitcoms of the Nineties, co-stars Nick Frost (Scorching Fuzz, The World’s Finish) as meek-mannered, bumbling homemaker Bernie reverse Alicia Silverstone (Clueless) as his stressed-out, breadwinner spouse.
Their humdrum existence is upended by the arrival of Russian mobsters on the doorstep posing as upkeep males. Bernie is compelled to man-up in protection of his household as their residence descends into blood-splattered chaos and violence.
The film debuted in Sundance’s The Midnights part after which made its European premiere in Rotterdam’s Limelight part over the previous weekend.
Dutch directorial duo Steffen & Flip are greatest identified internationally for his or her teen TV sequence New Youngsters. They tailored the present to the large display with the 2010 characteristic New Youngsters Turbo, which grossed some $18M worldwide.
Krazy Home marks their first movie in seven years after Dutch-language action-comedy Ron Goossens, Low Funds Stuntman about an alcoholic stuntman attempting to get his life again on monitor.
Maarten Swart lead produced the movie beneath the banner of his Amsterdam firm Kaap Holland Movie. Splendid Movies has Dutch rights. XYZ are dealing with North America.
